Welcome to [yet another] British right-of-centre political commentary blog! The internet, once the preserve of far-Left websites espousing the "merits" of Marxism and other assorted special-interest groups, is at last being embraced by pro-Capitalist, social conservatives such as the breed found on this website.
And it isn't any wonder when we British Conservatives have elements within the mainstream media up against us such as the BBC, and also the state-bankrolled press such as The Daily Mirror, The Daily Record and The Guardian. The very fact that ordinary activists, supporters, and sympathisers are taking it upon themselves to blog about real life in Britain shows how wide the gap between Nu-Lab spin and reality has become.
The politicans talk of falling crime, smaller hospital waiting lists, a stronger economy, more jobs available, prosperity for all, more police on our streets... and when ordinary people dispute this, our political masters dismiss our complaints as being merely anecdotal evidence.
Well, we can't all be wrong.
Common sense dictates that if you are giving out abortions in place of contraceptives, and sex changes on the NHS too, then of course hospitals are going to get busier and become a burden on the public purse. Common sense also dictates if you don't police the streets, and you give criminals a little slap on the wrist rather than a real punishment, then of course they are going to run rampant on civilised people's streets.
Common sense also dictates if you tax people on the minimum wage at a marginal rate of 33%, while expecting them to pay over the odds Council Tax and social housing rent with very little/no subsidies to help people stand on their own two feet, then they are going to become long-term unemployed rather than out doing it for themselves.
So it's about time we brought a little common sense back into British life. It is heavily in demand these days, especially when we have had to pay our prisoners compensation for pissing into a bucket, and also - soon to be in Scotland - for not having the vote, despite that being the law of our land for centuries.
If people are more economically better off in work rather than out of work, then work they shall do.
If people are better off with their freedom, rather than all the luxuries of being banged up in a cell, then law abiding they shall be.
If people took responsibility for their own diets and their own health, then the NHS and it's staff wouldn't face such a burden.
If you punish crime, then there shall be less of it.
I think I am going to enjoy this!
